Can you “unshrink” your clothes?
Yes and no. If you notice that something shrunk before you dry those clothes, then there is a chance.
If you see that something has shrunk during the wash cycle, take it out as soon as possible. This will stop the fibers from tightening up. As soon as you take it out of the washing machine, soak the item in warm water and mild detergent for about 30 minutes. This will loosen the fibers that contracted with the heat in the washing machine. Take the item out of the water and gently roll it in a towel. This will remove most of the moisture but will leave it damp enough to maintain it’s current size and shape. Carefully stretch the item to the desired size and lay it out on a dry towel to dry naturally.
The best thing you can do for your clothes is to prevent your clothes from shrinking before they actually shrink. First, read the tags on your clothing to make sure you are washing them properly. Second, avoid using high temperatures in the washing machine. And air dry your clothes whenever you can. Third, let Easy Kleen wash your clothes for you!
