How are mothballs and laundry related? Well mothballs are still great to prevent small creatures from eating your clothes. However, if you use them properly, by encasing your clothes with the mothballs in a plastic container, then your clothes will come out smelling like insecticide. So you want to make sure when you unpack your stored clothing that you give them a thorough cleaning to get rid of that smell. There are a couple of methods:
Vinegar. Vinegar is a great solution to getting rid of smells in your laundry. You can either presoak your laundry in vinegar or you can run your items through a wash cycle using vinegar before washing them as normal.
Baking Soda. Baking soda will reduce the smells in your refrigerator, it will do the same for your clothes. You can presoak your clothes with water and baking soda or you can add a cup of baking soda to your regular wash cycle.
Fresh Air. Hanging your clothing in the sunny fresh air for a few hours will naturally remove the smell.
Easy Kleen. Or you can let Easy Kleen take care of it for you. Just let our launderers know that you are trying to get the mothball smell out and they will take care of it for you.
